Hi Guys,

We at CView hope you had a successful week!

In this post we want to give you 5 reasons why writing a good CV is so important nowadays.

So watch out!

1. No job without CV No matter what job, or in which industry you're applying for, you will need a CV in the process of the application. Even jobs that are found through relationships also require a CV. Many things have been automated through digitization. With one click you can apply for various jobs. Hundreds of applications go in and out every day. The first thing you look at is your CV. A CV is practical because it summarizes in one page what you have already done in your life and what knowledge you have. It is therefore very important that you adapt your CV to the job.

2. You = (your) CV “The marketplace will initially judge you by your CV and letter of application (i.e. Cover Letter). Their importance cannot be overstressed, in that these two documents are, in effect, your passport to enter the world of employment.” (Littleford et al., 2004, p.10). The goal of a good CV is to represent you pretty well. It's about getting a recruiter to get the best possible impression of you on paper. That brings us straight to point three.

3. Your first point of contact with the potential employer Your CV is like the first date. You’ve probably heard the expression ‘First impressions are lasting ones’; your CV is usually your first impression with a potential employer. “Remember the first date, or the first time you went out with your partner? Did you make sure your clothes were right, your hair right, you were wearing the right perfume or aftershave? (Bright & Earl, 2001, pg.1). It's the same with your CV! The first impression you give of you is (unfortunately) written on paper before you can introduce yourself personally.

4. Be aware of how many competitions you have If you apply for your dream job, be aware that others might have the same dream job. Our world is more international than ever before. Not only do you have competitors in your region but worldwide. Especially if you apply for a large corporation.

5. Invest time in writing your CV Your CV is more important than you may be aware of. Remember: Your CV will decide if you will be invited to a job interview or not. So invest time to write it properly! Invest in your CV with us.

Have a good week and see you soon!! CView Team
